Concert Review: Bloc Party Live in Manila and Setlist

Image
Bluest Light: Bloc Party Live in Manila Never seen myself so pumped up with the entire crowd going nuts while watching Bloc Party play in front of us! Kele Okereke did a great job on getting the crowd get involve into their upbeat tunes and ‘getting the party started’ (just like what he said). Besides Kele’s very kind British accent, I was amused by Matt Tong’s pounding on the drums and all his 16 beats murdering my ears with gusto! He did brought the house down with his body building pose antics,  his big white towel and his incredible Hulk attire! LOL! Russell Lissack’s mastery of guitar delays was superb and Gordon Moakes being a multi instrumentalist with his bass hooks and glockenspiel playing! Here is the concert set list for Bloc Party live in Manila: 1) So He Begins to Lie  2) Mercury  3) Hunting for Witches  4) Positive Tension  5) Team A  6) Waiting for the 7.18  7) Song for Clay (Disappear Here)  8) Banquet  9) Coliseum  10) Da

CONCERT REVIEW: Motion City Soundtrack in Manila!

Image
Motion City Soundtrack was on fire and busted their moves at the SM North Edsa Skydome last March 9, 2013! I got flashbacks of my college days while watching the band play infront of my eyes. I was amazed that most of the attendees were high school and college kids singing their hearts out with most of the songs of the band. Justin Pierre still sports that Eraserhead/ Robert Smith hairdo and was doing some stand up comedy monologues in between some songs. He was also a beneficiary of troll stuff toy thrown by a fan directly at this body. He was happy that the toy looked like him and decided to hang it on his mic stand. The band performed minutes before 9 PM and finished around 10:05. It was a fast concert but they were able to dish out 19 songs. Check out the concert set list below: 1) My Favorite Accident 2) Her Words Destroyed My Planet 3) The Future Freaks Me Out 4) The Coma Kid 5) When "You're" Around 6) Broken Heart 7) A Lifeless

BLOC PARTY LIVE IN MANILA!!!

[UPDATE: YOU CAN CHECK MY CONCERT REVIEW HERE:  http://underthecarillonbells.blogspot.com/2013/03/concert-review-bloc-party-live-in.html ] Eight years ago, they were touted by music critics as the new 'The Clash' / 'Gang of Four' prototype band of this generation. But I believe that they have already carved out their own names in music history. British Indie Rock band Bloc Party will be performing in the Philippines for the first time this March 22, 2013, 8PM at the World Trade Center Hall D, Pasay City. The band is composed of Kele Okereke on vocals/guitar, Russell Lissack on lead guitar, Gordon Moakes on bass guitar and Matt Tong on drums. Bloc Party released their critically acclaimed first album "Silent Alarm" in 2005 which brought the hits 'Banquet" , "Pioneers", "Two More Years", and "Helicopter." Bloc Party - 'Banquet' Last year, they released a new album simply called 'Four'

Grimes Live in Manila!!!

Image
Canadian indie-electronica artist Claire Boucher a.k.a. Grimes will be performing here in Manila on March 14, 2013, Thursday at the Hard Rock cafe in Glorietta Makati City. The 24 year old artist is signed by 4AD Records (the same record company who signed the Cocteau Twins and other amazing 80's bands) and she is making waves in the indie scene with her lush angelic voice and captivating electronica beats. She already released her 3rd album last year named "Visions." This is her first single and self-directed video off the album "Visions":   Genesis To have a complete understanding on what you can expect on her concert, you can check this performance: What a genius blissful performance! She will be accompanied by fellow electronica artist and American-Indian sitarist Amy Dang. I would say this is the closest thing to a Cocteau Twins concert! If you want to uplift more your music listening experience, you must attend to this concert!!! Th
