Radiohead's 2006 Bonnaroo Concert for Free Download

Image
Christmas is still not over. Radiohead's 2006 Bonnaroo Concert is now up online for free download for a limited time courtesy of a certain Paul Phipps. He remastered the raw audio files of the said concert and uploaded it on this weblink:  http://radioheadbonnaroo.com/ You can check them out per songs on that link or you can download the whole set at these links: http://www.mediafire.com/?s9m1l5qd1u6g4cr Alternate link: http://www.mediafire.com/?std87wgbxle1lff The audio quality is a treat and I could imagine Thom Yorke singing and performing in front of me.  I really do enjoy Radiohead live and I've been listening for 3 years on one of their live performance uploaded online at NPR.com. It's their concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl on Aug. 28, 2008. And with this much older Bonnaroo recording, its a welcome addition for my collection. The Bonnaroo upload just reminded me of the much legal NPR release.  You can check or download the Santa Barbara Bowl concert here:

Who's your Daddy? The Zombies live in Manila!!!

The Zombies: Jim, Colin, Rod, Steve and Tom (Philippine Concert Poster) What's your name?   Who's your daddy?   Is he rich like me?   For almost 3 years, I thought that the song “Time of the Season” was a song by The Byrds, as part of the mixtape done by Travis Barker (Blink 182) and DJ AM (Crazy Town) in which was in heavy rotation on my Ipod. And two months ago, I was just enlightened that it was the English band The Zombies, who created that song! (The Byrds song is Turn, Turn, Turn and I got it all mixed up.) Colin Blunstone Last Oct 19, 2012, a piece of music history unfolded in front of my eyes and fulfilled my ears with joy as I witnessed The Zombies performed live here in the Philippines at the PICC Hall in Pasay City! Colin Blunstone The original members of the Zombies: Colin Blunstone on vocals and Rod Argent on keyboards were accompanied by this talented line up: Jim Rodford on bass (The Kinks founding member, also played for

Cruising Ventura Hi-way: AMERICA with KALAPANA (Manila 2012)

It was a nostalgic night for all hippie dads and moms, lovebirds, and early 90s kids to see and watch the bands America and Kalapana live in the Smart Araneta Coliseum last October 17, 2012. Kalapana (circa 1977) The concert started around 8PM with supporting band, Hawaii’s Kalapana. The band played their hits like “Night Bird” and of course their smash hit “The Hurt”. “The Hurt” was big then in Philippine radio in the early 90’s especially when it was done with a disco remix version and had it played in clubs like Faces; or on a mobile disco of an 18 th year old girl’s debut street party. Sadly, their original vocalist Mackey Feary already passed away but his legacy and music still lives on. I got their best of CD in which I wished they could have it signed. They played a 40 minute set with their Hawaiian chill jazz music to the delight of the crowd. America (circa ealy 1980s) Then the main act of the night: America. The London England formed classic folk r

Brace Yourselves for the Reckoning Day: Megadeth Live in Manila!

Image
So kids, brace yourselves!  Heavy Metal band Megadeth will be pulverizing Manila this July 29, 2012 at the World Trade Center in Pasay in support of the Th1rt3en World Tour. What a lovely day to die for the Reckoning day! Megadeth (current roster) A little bit of flashback: My grade school and high school years of listening to rock music had crossed paths with the heavy metal sounds of Megadeth. They were the second metal band I listened to after Metallica. Main man Dave Mustaine’s unique voice which is like cousin’s to AC/DC’s Brian Johson’s, was one of the arsenals of Megadeth besides that all of the members are virtuosos on their craft.  Everyone knows that Megadeth rose from the shadows of Metallica because Dave was Metallica’s former founding lead guitarist. But as times goes by, Megadeth's music becomes more interesting and Dave still got his unconventional voice and edge over James Hetfield. And that is what I liked about Megadeth.  The height of my

The Resurrection: The Stone Roses Live in Singapore & Hong Kong!!!

The Stone Roses: Alan 'Reni' Wren, Gary 'Mani' Mounfield, Ian Brown and John Squire. When I first heard the news last year ( 18 October 2011)  that the Stone Roses has reunited, I was so very happy that Ian Brown and John Squire already settled their differences for freaking 15 years of not talking to each other. And when the news came out last April that the Stone Roses will be having a world tour plus Hong Kong and Singapore are part of the list, that great news really made me cry! The Stone Roses (1989) The Stone Roses are an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1983. The classic lineup consisted of vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Gary "Mani" Mounfield, and drummer Alan "Reni" Wren. I became a big fan of the Roses when I first heard their single, “Love Spreads” from the radio sometime late 1994 and I was hooked! The awesome rocking riff and the lyrics were really magical! While waiting for my next
